At home in the heart of Yeppoon’s vibrant arts hub

Fig Tree Galleries is located beneath the historic fig trees at the old Yeppoon Post Office. Integrating an award- winning art gallery and a workshop space, it's the perfect place to explore, be inspired, and take home a unique piece of art.

Our little gallery is full of secrets....

Current Exhibition

Local Topographies is an exhibition that explores notions of place through a planetary lens. It uses various modes of representation to consider a specific central Queensland site. The installation also explores an emerging area of contemporary art practice known as planetary art.

Colour and a range of data sets, media and aesthetic approaches are used in this exhibition to allow diverse ways of thinking about place and climate change to emerge and coalesce.

In gallery from 13 April to 8 May, 2026.

Upcoming Exhibition

Debut Solo Exhibition by Alana Read - Librarian, Watercolourist, Photographer, Miniaturist, Calligrapher.

By pushing the boundaries of what a book can physically become, by breaking it down to it's essential parts and building it back up again, as well as capturing the elements of books in different ways, Alana has created a unique exhibition.

Whilst exploring her varied artistic skills sets, Alana sympathetically celebrates books, with the intention to bring the stories within their pages to life in two and three dimensions.

Opening Night - Sunday 10th May 6pm (Mother's Day)

In gallery from 10 May to 5 June, 2026.
